Free meal waiver ends June 30, 2022
On
August 31, 2020, the federal government announced free breakfast and lunch for
all students in all districts across the nation until June 30, 2021. This
waiver was extended until June 30, 2022.
The free meal waiver will not be extended past June 30,
2022. Effective
September 2022, families will need to fill out a free and reduced meal
form in order to receive free breakfast and lunch meal benefits for their
children. Those families who do not qualify will need to pay for school
meals. Starting September 7, 2022, meal prices will be as follows: K-12
breakfast: $1.80, K-12 lunch: $3.00.
If
you submitted an application in 2021-2022 and were approved, your child will
receive benefits until October 18, 2022. A new 2022-23 application must be
submitted and approved to receive benefits after that date.
The
2022-23 Free and Reduced Meal Application will be available online this summer
on the district website under Food Service and also will be inserted in the
district calendar mailed to families in August.
