Dear Families,
I am writing with this week's update. Remember that I'll be sending updates each week while posting in the meantime to the Village Elementary Principal's blog.
As a reminder, placement letters were mailed last week. Please give us a call if you did not receive your child's letter. If you are the parent/guardian of a new student, please don't forget about our New Student Orientation that will take place on Thursday, August 26, at 11 am. Call us at 585-392-1000 x5197 if you plan to attend with your child(ren). This orientation is for new students entering grades 1-6. A separate orientation for new kindergarten students and their families will take place on Tuesday, August 31, from 5-6 pm.
In updating you last week, I shared the news that Mrs. Colby has moved on to serve as Principal of Hill School in the Brockport School District. I truly appreciate all the work that Mrs. Colby did during her time here at Village both as a counselor and as Assistant Principal, and I wish her all the best in her new role in Brockport. We are currently working to identify who will take over her position here at Village, and I will update you when the process has been completed. In the meantime, I would like to announce that Mrs. Kelley O'Connell-Byrne has joined the Village staff as an Assistant Principal, coming to us from Northwood Elementary. Mrs. O'Connell-Byrne and I previously worked together here at Village years ago, and I am excited to work with her again. Please join me in welcoming her back to Village!
That said, please visit the Village Elementary Principal’s Blog for the following reminders/updates:
We are looking forward to seeing your child(ren) soon - remember to encourage them to read for fun while also taking advantage of getting outside to play!
Sincerely,
Dr. Rudd
