On August 31, 2020 the USDA issued a press release stating they are extending free meals for all students until December 31, 2020 or until the funds appropriated by Congress are exhausted. Based on this information, breakfast and lunch will be free to all Hilton students, in school and remote, starting Friday, Sept. 11. Congress may also appropriate more money to feed students past December 31, 2020. We will fully communicate any changes on the Hilton Food Service website as they occur.
Students must take all components of the lunch to qualify as free (main entrée, fruit/vegetable). Milk is an option.
This benefit excludes doubles, a la carte purchases, and anything above and beyond one free breakfast and lunch. For example, if a student comes through the line for a milk purchase only, or asks for a double lunch, they will be charged on their account for that purchase. Please communicate this to your children to make the process seamless for all.
For ordering remote meals, please refer to the remote ordering instructions on the Hilton Food Service site.
In the event meals are no longer free, the 2020-2021 prices are listed below.
Free/Reduced: $0.00 for breakfast and lunch
Paid: $2.85 for lunch and $1.70 for breakfast
When the free meal program ends, we will immediately transition back to the paid, free, and reduced status using the meal applications.
Families should apply using the application located on our website, and return the application to the Food Service Department as soon as possible. Applications are also stapled inside the district calendar and colored canary yellow.
