Last month, we started a new way to celebrate our students
that consistently engage in behaviors that show they work hard every day to Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Ready to Learn by introducing Committed Cadet Classrooms.
Teachers who felt that their classroom should be considered
for this award, completed an online form providing examples of what the students
are doing in their classroom that show each of our school-wide behavior
expectations. Teachers then asked the
students how they would like to present this information during our school-wide
assembly. Classrooms responded in a
variety of ways: recording videos, acting out skits, and even making a speech
in front of a gym full of their peers!
Our nominated classrooms for
January’s Committed Cadet Classroom
were those of Ms. Vay (K), Mrs. Menges (2), Mrs. Charles (3), Mrs. Conte (3),
Mrs. Ottman (4), Mrs. Carr/Mrs. Finke (5), Mrs. Tyler/Mrs. Humphreys (5), Mr.
Grayson/Mrs. Wallace (6), Mrs. Bower/Mrs. Forman (6).
Congratulations to our January Committed Cadet Classrooms: Mrs.
Butlin’s first grade class and Ms. Craney’s fourth grade class. These classes chose to celebrate with a
well-deserved pizza party!
While we were able to celebrate quite a few classrooms during our assembly, we realize that there are many more classrooms in our school that are deserving of being a Committed Cadet Classroom. We look forward to recognizing these classrooms in the upcoming months.
