5.11.2020 Update from Dr. Rudd

Dear Village Families,

Thank you for your continued support as our students and teachers continue to engage in distance learning. The support of our families to make this work as best as possible for all involved is commendable and our students have demonstrated such persistence and resilience.

Without question, I know that I speak for the staff when I express how disappointed we are that we will not be able to be together with our students again this year. Having had the opportunity to join in on several class meetings with students and teachers via Zoom, I am reminded of how fortunate I am to work in education. That said, I look forward to the day when we are back together again in person as a Village community.

Next week, our teachers will be working to prepare for student materials to be picked up the week of May 18. More details regarding student material pickup plans will be sent early next week. Please know that we will offer hours both during the day and in the evening. In the meantime, it is possible you may find your child’s teacher will be offline one day next week as they work in their classrooms to be sure student materials are ready to go for May 18. Your child’s teacher will communicate with you if this is the case.

Finally, as teacher and staff appreciation week comes to a close, Mrs. Colby and I are deeply appreciative of the hard work and dedication of our staff.  Please join me in recognizing our teachers and staff for their commitment to our students and our community. It takes a Village!

Sincerely,
Dr. Rudd
