Dear Village Families,
We hope that the school year has gotten off to a smooth start for your child(ren). Without question, the first days of school bring much excitement for many but also can mean worry and stress. Thank you for everything you have done to support your child(ren) through this period of transition.
As you know, Open House will be held this Wednesday, September 25. Families of students in grades K, 1, 3, and 5 should plan to attend from 6:00-7:00 pm, while families of students in grades 2, 4, and 6 should plan to attend from 6:30-7:30 pm. We ask that you please utilize the parking lots and bus loop or that you park at Merton Williams as a parking shuttle will be available from the front parking lot. The shuttle will drop families off in our parent drop-off loop, so please do not park in this area. Additionally, thank you for avoiding parking on side streets or at Omega, as they are not areas that we can utilize for school functions. While you are here, we hope that you will check out the book fair in Computer Lab A.
Also, next Wednesday, October 2, is our annual Walk to School Day. Held in conjunction with National Walk to School Day, this event is open to all Village students regardless of whether or not your child(ren) typically would walk to school. Students should be dropped off in the High School bus loop where Village staff will be to greet them at 7:30 am. Permission slips were sent home to all families earlier this month and are also available by clicking on this link on our blog. Please return permission slips to Mrs. Ingles by this Friday, September 27. Many thanks to Mrs. Ingles and our One Healthy Village team for organizing Walk to School Day.
Thank you for all that you do to work as partners in the success of our students. We look forward to seeing you later this week!
Sincerely,
Ben Rudd Tina Colby
