A note from Assistant Principal Brian Lumb

Dear Village Families,

Throughout March and April, our school has focused on the IB Approach to Learning of being a Thinker.  Every day on the announcements, we've discussed strategies and skills that thinkers use effectively.

On the hallway bulletin board, our Village students have had access to weekly challenge problems that require outside the box thinking in order to solve them.   Students who have successfully solved the problems have been recognized on the announcements for their persistence and flexible thinking.  Many students have displayed diverse thinking strategies in solving these problems.

Our One Healthy Village Committee has encouraged students to think about healthy eating choices both in school and at home.  Many Village families took part in a spring break healthy eating challenge.  The One Healthy Village Committee prepared ideas for daily healthy snacks for students and families to create and enjoy over spring break.

Over the past couple of months, our students have grown as flexible thinkers.  As we finish up the school year throughout May and June, we will be focusing on the Research IB Approach to Learning.  Finally, please join us tomorrow on Periscope at 8:30 am as we come together for our monthly PBIS Assembly.
