Your child has expressed an interest
in joining the Village Elementary Chorus this year. Chorus meets twice each week and rehearses
from 7:20-8:10 a.m. Third and Fourth
grade Chorus meets on Mondays and Wednesdays and Fifth and Sixth grades meet on
Tuesdays and Thursdays. All rehearsals
take place in the HJ multi-purpose room.
By joining chorus, your child is
agreeing to participate in all rehearsals and two concerts that will take place
on December 12th, 2018 and May
7th, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the High School Auditorium. Please make a note of these dates on your
calendar. We will send home more
reminders and specific details as the time approaches.
We will begin our rehearsals the
week of October 1st, 2018.
Some children may need to take an early bus in order to
participate. Please fill out the attached form with the appropriate information and
submit by September 14th so we can pass it on to our Transportation
Department. The Transportation Department
will send home a letter with your child regarding early busses. Below you will find a list of expectations we
have for perspective chorus members.
Please read and discuss them with your child/children prior to signing
the agreement.

CHORUS EXPECTATIONS
As a
member of the Hilton Central School District Elementary Chorus I agree to the
following guidelines:
Attendance:
·
I will attend rehearsals regularly
·
If I am in attendance at school, and miss the morning rehearsal, I need
to provide a note to the director(s).
·
If I miss more than 2 unexcused rehearsals, the director will call
home.
Rehearsals:
·
I will be on time.
·
When I arrive at school, I will go right to my rehearsal place. I understand that I’m not to go to my
classroom before 8:10 a.m.
·
I will talk only when allowed –Not when the director is talking.
·
I will do my best to encourage others to do their best.
Concerts:
·
I will attend my concerts.
·
I will behave in a professional manner during concerts.
·
I will be at the concert site on time.
·
I will dress appropriately—I will look as good as I sound!
·
I will have fun!
Procedure for removal from
the Concert: After
2 phone calls to the parent, a letter will go home. Following the proper parent communication,
the student will not be able to participate in that concert and other activities
such as the Rochester Red Wings Game or other community performances.
