November PBIS News from Ms. Schaufelberger

Happy Fall!

I cannot believe we are already into the third month of school.  It has been a great year so far.  We were very pleased to see so many of you and your children during the Night At Village.  The staff worked so hard in coordinating the activities and wrapping all the books.  We hope you are enjoying The Lemonade War!

We cannot believe we are already into the third month of school.  November's IB profile trait is Open-Minded. We will be celebrating the trait with a presentation by students during our PBIS assemblies on November 18th. November also marks the annual kick-off of Jump Rope For Heart! The One Healthy Village committee has set up the schedules and demonstrations that will also be a part of our November assemblies.

September Bus of Month was #65 and the October Bus of the month was #5.  As a school, we roll out the red carpet and high five the students on the last Friday of the month. Additionally, the bus driver is recognized with a token of appreciation.

Last month, as you know, we had our first lockdown drill.  During a lockdown drill, all staff lock their doors and take the students to a quiet, hidden space in the room.  The security staff walks the hallways and double checks all areas to ensure the safety of all students and staff.  During this time, there is no one who can enter the building until the drill is completed.  We will be practicing three more drills like this throughout the year.

Have a Happy November!
